Coleoptoric Motion
The inspiration starting point of my graduation project came from the book Methamorphosis of Kafka. I took over the fascination of the beetle and transformed it into my inspiration of my collection. The movement of the beetle has inspired many people and I kept seeing the relation to dance movements .
Working on my collection it changed in something more than just fashion. I wanted to create an collection that was not just to walk in but to move in. For this I found a group of five dancers whom I worked with to create a choreography inspired by the beetle. By watching the dancers practice I saw extra possibilities in my first design ideas. Each look contains combinations of texture, textiles and layers which makes the movement in the looks enhanced.
Clothes are made to move in so embrace it and enhance it. With this collection I wanted to show how movement is a beautiful way of expresion and how the costumes can transform it.
